2010 Minnesota Twins Roster

The era of Outdoor Baseball returns to Minnesota Twins land with the opening of Target Field. Less seats, but a more intimate setting. Better food. Still the same parking issues. And soldout crowds (standing room only!) as the 2010 season was one of the Twins best -- only to be capped again with a loss to the dreaded New York Yankees in the playoffs. The Twins returned with a line-up that has gotten wiser, but still fairly young according to baseball standards. They went out and re-signed Carl Pavano to anchor the rotation. The bullpen was hit with the year-off injury of Joe Nathan, with Jon Rauch  filling the breach until the Twins acquired veteran Matt Capps midseason. The Twins traded for J.J. Hardy at shortstop, and signed free-agents Jim Thome and Orlando Hudson. Hit with multiple injuries (notably to Joe Mauer's nagging legs and Justin Morneau's concussion, Delmon Young and Michael Cuddyer stepped forward to fill voids. Mauer went to the All-Star game. Ron Gardenhire was named Manager of the Year!
