1963 Minnesota Twins Roster

The Minnesota Twins were in the thick of the pennant race until the last month when ace pitcher Camilo Pascual missed a half-dozen starts due to injury. Still, the Twins drew a league record 1,406,652 and also hit 225 home-runs as a team, led by the big three of Harmon Killebrew (45 and league leading), Bob Allison (35) and rookie Jimmie Hall (33). Catcher Earl Battey chipped in with an additional 26 round-trippers. Catcher Battey and shortstop Zoilo Versalles were named a starters to the All-Star Game, joined by Killebrew and Allison. Vic Power at first base and Jim Kaat as pitcher returned as Gold Glove winners, with Versalles picking up a Gold Glove at shortstop. Star pitcher Jack Kralick was traded to Cleveland for Jim Perry, a move that would help the Twins immensely in the future.
